NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of organizations across the country to host a database of participating shelters. More than 250,000 pets found their forever homes since 2015. This will be the first year that ESRREC participates.

The Main Street shelter in Rock Hall will be open 12-5 pm with door prizes and refreshments to welcome both potential adopters and supporters. Any adoptions approved in advance and conducted on Clear the Shelters Day, as well as any adopters who turn in the application that day, qualify for the reduced adoption fees below:

  • Single Rabbit $25 (normally $50)
  • Bonded Pair $40 (normally $75)
  • Bonded Trio $75 (normally $100)

In addition, ESRREC volunteers are setting up a second location at the PetSmart in Salisbury, MD. Foster rabbits will be available for adoption meetings 11 am – 2 pm.  The same adoption rates will apply.

ESRREC opened its shelter in April 2015 and has taken in over 190 rabbits.  Currently the ESRREC shelter houses 13 rabbits but an additional 40 are being fostered throughout the region.  Some of the rabbits are not yet adoptable (too young, socialization needed, health issues, pending spay/neuter). In total, ESRREC has 37 rabbits available for adoption including several bonded pairs and one bonded trio.  All adoptable rabbits are spayed/neutered and litter box trained.
