6th Annual 5K Walk/Run to benefit Eastern Shore Rabbit Rescue
Hop into spring! Join Eastern Shore Rabbit Rescue and Education Center for the sixth annual 5K Bun Run. We will have an in-person organized event in Rock Hall, MD (a small town on the Chesapeake Bay) on April 4, 2026 and a virtual option that you can do anywhere, anytime. Either way, you can choose your own pace – walk or run!
Our 5K route for the in-person event will take participants past the harbor and the beach, with scenic views of the Chesapeake Bay and Swan Creek. Funds raised will go toward veterinary expenses and other operational expenses. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates!
Don’t live on the Eastern Shore but want to participate in Bun Run? Come visit our beautiful bayside town and stay for a couple of nights! Several inns, either in town or a short ride away, are offering discounts of 25 or 30 percent to the Bun Runners. Check out the Hotel Discounts Program page for more information.

Registration fee (in-person participation):
$40 per person “Early Bun” rate
$45 regular price starting March 4
$50 on April 4 for same-day registrants
Each in-person registrant will receive a Bun Run swag bag. The 2026 Bun Run T-Shirt is available for purchase during registration, with pick up at check-in.

Our official Bun Run t-shirt is an optional purchase not included in registration. If you register before March 4, the t-shirt can be added to your registration for $12. If you register March 4-April 4, the price of the t-shirt will be $15.
On the day of the event, size availability may be limited. T-shirts will be distributed to in-person registrants in Rock Hall upon check-in. T-shirts for virtual registrants will be shipped the week of March 23, if registered by March 4.
You can pre-order a t-shirt without registering for Bun Run for $15 (plus $6 shipping if applicable).
All registrants who participate in-person are automatically entered in a prize drawing for an Amazon $100 gift card to be drawn on May 1. Virtual registrants must post results by April 30 to enter.
All in-person participants will be given a raffle ticket to use upon crossing the finish line, for additional prizes immediately after the race.
For those who like to push their personal best, we offer extra incentives! Medals will be awarded at the in-person event for Top Bun Runners in 8 categories:
Young Kits (Age 12 and under) – Male and Female
Binky Bunners (Age 13 – 19) – Male and Female
Thumpers (Age 20 – 39) – Male and Female
Gray Hares (Age 40+) – Male and Female
